New Low-Temperature Resistant Blood Bag Labels for Medical Industry

2026-05-15
A new generation of low-temperature resistant Blood Bag Labels has been launched to meet the stringent requirements of blood centers, transfusion services, and clinical laboratories. Engineered for extreme cold-chain conditions, these labels solve common problems such as edge lifting, cracking, and barcode unreadability after freezing or thawing.
Low-temperature resistant blood bag labels

Withstands -80°C to 110°C, No Delamination After Freeze-Thaw

The label uses medical-grade PP synthetic paper and a special acrylic adhesive that remains effective from -80°C (ultra-low freezer) up to 110°C. Validated per blood bank protocols:

-18°C for 24 hours – no lifting, no adhesive failure, no embrittlement, no edge curling.
-30°C for 24h → 37°C water bath for 1h – no delamination, no shape change, strong adhesion remains.

Reliable Under High-Speed Centrifugation & Wet Surfaces

Blood component processing often causes label failure during centrifugation or on condensing surfaces. These labels have passed:

5,000G for 10 minutes (at 4°C and 37°C) – no wrinkling, no detachment, no sticking between bags; barcode remains scannable.
Wet-surface application – directly adheres to frozen plasma bags with condensation or uneven surfaces without slipping.
Abrasion test – simulated bag-to-bag and finger rubbing does not remove or blur printed content.

Medical Safety & Barcode Compliance

The labels fully comply with biocompatibility requirements:

Non-cytotoxic, non-hemolytic, low migration. Remain scannable after freezing and centrifugation. Mandatory information area (donation code, product code, blood type with Rh, collection/expiry dates, facility code, volume, storage conditions) is presented in high-contrast black-on-white. Rh(D) negative can be specially marked.

Print & Disinfectant Resistance

Designed for thermal transfer + resin ribbon – low-temperature resistant, no fading or bleeding. The surface coating resists alcohol / isopropanol wiping for disinfection. The liner has low shrinkage to further prevent edge lifting.
